International Anti-Corruption Day

On the International Anti-Corruption Day, a clothesline was raised in front of the City Council of Recife with signatures in support of the project "Ficha Limpa Recife". This was an initiative of OPECC in partnership with other nonpartisan groups: Anonymous.PE, Dia do Basta, NasRuas.PE, Consciência Cidadã, among others.

No Dia Mundial de Combate à Corrupção foi levantado um varal em frente à Câmara Municipal do Recife, com assinaturas em apoio ao Projeto de Iniciativa Popular "Ficha Limpa Recife". Iniciativa da OPECC em parceria com Anonymous.PE, Dia do Basta, NasRuas.PE, Consciência Cidadã, entre outros.

Caxangá Avenue

Caxangá Avenue was born in the 19th century, in 1843. It has a lot of history, since the cane sugar mills , called "Engenhos", the first suspended bridge in Brazil, the old garage of trams etc. The first section of Caxangá Av. was completed in 1842 and before it was a path for the sugar plantations routs and for the population. Caxangá Av. is the longest avenue in a straight line in the world, with approximately 6.2 km, located in the west of Recife. Today, it's one of most important corridors of vehicular traffic and bus. It has access to various districts and some municipalities of the metropolitan area.

A Avenida Caxangá nasceu no século XIX em 1843, carrega consigo muita história, desde Grandes Engenhos até a construção da primeira ponte suspensa do Brasil e antiga garagem de bondes. Seu primeiro trecho foi concluído em 1842 e antes era um caminho de onde saiam diversas ramificações para os engenhos de açúcar e as povoações. É a maior avenida em linha reta do mundo, com aproximadamente 6,2 km, fica localizada na zona oeste do Recife. Hoje é um dos corredores de tráfego de veículos e de transporte coletivo mais importantes da cidade, tem acesso para diversos bairros e alguns municípios da região metropolitana.
